See with your hands

What does red feel like, anyway?

How do blind people experience colour? The Black Book of Colors by Menena Cottin and illustrated by Rosana Faría’s raised black outlines on black paper is a simple and yes, we’ll say it, stimulating attempt to answer these questions. It’s positioned as a children’s book but it’s also relevant to ADs and copywriters, sighted or not. (It’s also the only actual book in our special books issue, but who’s counting?) The English translation is published in Canada by Groundwood Books.
