Wear your vinyl

Winner #4: Tripti Ninan gets double points for style and recycling.

Congrats to Tripti Ninan, marketing & proposal specialist at engineering firm Genivar, for introducing everybody to the eye-popping Aroha Silhouettes, the project of New Zealand-born, Vancouver-based artist Tania Hennessy, who cuts old vinyl records into deceptive designs that appear three-dimensional. Each piece is one of a kind due to the unique grooves present in the record prior to cutting.

Says Ninan: ‘The green phenomenon has inspired jewellery by Aroha Silhouettes. She plays with funky cool shapes and optical illusions to create beautiful jewellery designs for bowls, necklaces, earrings and more. Truly music to my ears. There’s no better way to hang onto that Beatles record forever…retro vinyl records are back in fashion!’
