The winner of Spike Lee’s Mofilm U12 project was announced today at the Cannes adfest by the man himself. Hiroki Ono from Japan won the $12,000 prize for the romantic narrative ’Feel the Globe’ for Nokia. His video – which he filmed and edited in two days – will be embedded into millions of Nokia mobile devices around the world. Ono and the two other finalists – Jeff Gill for the animation ’Larry Had the Internet’ for AT&T and Mahesh Pailour for ‘An Ordinary Person’ for Best Buy - were flown to Cannes for the finals, which is a decent consolation prize in itself.
