English Russia

A glimpse over the pole.

You’ve always known there was an art and design subculture in the world’s largest country, but unless you could read Cyrillic (pronouncing that sign ‘pectopah’ doesn’t count) it’s been largely inaccessible – until now. English Russia is a blog that dubs itself ‘the Eastern Entertainment Channel,’ and covers everything from Izhevsk street artists (featured above) to Christian Dior’s 1957 visit to Moscow. And links to creepy random photos of Varya Akulova, the ‘strongest girl in the world,’ giving her dad a piggyback. Natch.
