Happiness goes Pop

Toronto-based prodco Crush got involved in Charles Spearin’s (of Broken Social Scene fame) Happiness Project at Pop Montreal at the beginning of October. The idea was to take over a house and assign each room to a different artist or group to use as space to interpret one of Spearin’s songs.

Crush resident geniuses Rudy Ledvinka and Scott Carradice designed a room with a variety of sensors and switches to trigger layers of sound as drawers were opened and people sat on the bed or chair. They also built a CG model of the room with an animated man, representing Mr. Gowrie, whose narration formed the basis of the song. Check out the final product.
