Pilfering the prize

Vancouver-based Rethink won Silver at strategy‘s Agency of the Year but unfortunately weren’t able to make the trip to Toronto to accept. That’s when a grave mistake was made – the award was handed over to the folks at TBWAVancouver. Since their offices are so close, it seemed to make sense. Little did anyone know that TBWA had a sinister plan to hold the award hostage, passing it around town to cab drivers and Halloween revellers alike. They then sent a ransom note to Rethink – meet them before the Lotus Awards with a box of Timbits and a bottle of scotch. Andrea Southcott of TBWAVancouver and Chris Staples of Rethink handled the exchange without further incident, and the award is now safely ensconced in the Rethink offices, inside a bullet-proof case surrounded by two armed guards (we assume).
