A wizard’s world

Convincing kids everywhere that science is cool.

Don Herbert may not have been a household name, but his alter ego Mr. Wizard certainly was. His science program, which aired for many decades, would do nothing short of inspire kids to explore the world. For many of us he was a teacher and a kind friend who was more of a creative type than a scientist. My natural curiosity would be encouraged from watching the show, and many of the experiments were made for us kids to try at home. Such a quiet little show with just a guy and a kid having fun experimenting with stuff had such an effect on me, that I still consider Mr. Wizard to be one of my most important role models. Mr.Wizard was produced in Canada for Nickelodeon from 1983 to 1990.
