Offical carbon offsetter of the 2010 Winter Games, Vancouver-based Offsetters, working with Vancouver-based Rethink, put a new spin on a hallmark sport of the Winter Olympics to bring awareness to the issue of climate change. They launched a fictional demonstration sport called bobwheeling – what the bobsled event would become in a world of higher temperatures. We like it because it’s like competing in a soapbox derby with a racer that looks like a mini spaceship, and you stay warm. Still having ice would be cool though.
