Tangible interaction

At Engine Digital we like to think beyond the screen when it comes to digital experiences. When my buddy Alex Beim started Tangible Interaction, he wanted to expand on that idea and take it fully into the realm of experiential design.

The Zygote balls he and his team have developed are giant inflatable spheres that ride on waves of outstretched arms, changing colour with every touch of the human hand. The Zygote balls are often deployed at music festivals where thousands of people get to interact with his products on any given night. The design of the devices is elegant, the interaction is simple and it delivers a memorable experience for the end-user, which successfully checks off all the major criteria for great digital design in my books.

This week’s Frandoms are by David Smith at Engine Digital.
