Ice on ice

Not just for rappers and geologists anymore.

Somewhere out there Ice Cube is losing his sh*t. “Decades of expertly-placed ice puns and (poorly-placed) extravagance and the rap industry still couldn’t come up with records made of real ice? For shame, homies. For shame.” Glasgow artist Katie Paterson recently recorded some haunting glacier ice sounds and put them (fittingly) on ice. As a result, Katie was profiled as one of the winning artists in the UK’s Creative 30 competition. The cracking ice sounds were recorded from three Icelandic glaciers and frankly, it’s a little creepy. But totally cool (get it?). Brings to mind a million and one “ice cold” puns, but I’ll leave that to Ice Cube et al.
