Tenacious Thailand

This beach is a survivor.

A recent trip to Thailand taught me a valuable lesson in tenacity. Koh Phi Phi – a group of islands completely devastated by the tsunami in 2004 – was completely rebuilt by its locals to its full beauty and glory. To my amazement, not only did the locals rebuild their islands, they also rebuilt their spirits. [Ed. note - if the island looks familiar, it's because it's where the Leo DiCaprio movie The Beach was shot.]
