Indispensable poetry

Way more fun than a can of soda.

You’ve all heard of the vending machines that dispense panties and porn, but in Toronto they’re selling something even hotter: poetry. Toronto Poetry Vendors (started by local writers Elisabeth de Mariaffi and strategy associate editor Carey Toane) rescued three Wrigley Excel vending machines from their fate and loaded them up with candy-coloured poems by 10 local poets. You can find the machines at indie bookstores This Ain’t the Rosedale Library in Kensington Market and Type Books on Queen St. West, with another machine coming to a coffee shop in the Dupont area next month.
