Environmental circus

Acrobats can be do-gooders too.

La TOHU is the hub of circus arts in Montreal – a non-profit organization founded by En Piste (the national association of circus arts), the National Circus School and Cirque du Soleil. I love that since its inception in 2004, La TOHU chose to take part in the revitalization of the St-Michel Environmental Complex – a limestone quarry turned landfill in the ’60s. This kind of environmental mission paired with La TOHU’s contribution to the cultural and economic development of the nearby Saint-Michel neighbourhood should inspire our generation to create collaborative projects as well as socially and environmentally conscious endeavours – and it makes economic sense as well!

This week’s Frandoms are by Next Media Star finalist Anne-Marie Buchanan at Bleublancrouge Media.
