Universal disaster

Universal Studios in California slid this ad-disguised-as-news piece into the Los Angeles Times to promote its new King Kong 3D attraction, which was designed by the man who directed the most recent Hollywood film starring the monster, Peter Jackson. The paper’s ‘Latextra’ ad wrap reports on a King Kong rampage through the theme park, with headlines like ‘Universal Studios partially destroyed,’ and ‘Colossal footprints found on beach.’ Given the backlash the paper has received with regard to its journalistic integrity for deciding to run the ad, it remains unclear whether this will simply remain a fictional disaster of monster proportions, or prove to be a real one for the paper. The pics of the paper come care of the blog of freelance visual journalist Charles Apple
