The Lo down

New Year's resolutions from a starving artist.

I met a Canadian artist named Tessar Lo at his first solo exhibition, ‘Everything we wanted, in our nostalgic future,’ whose canvases reminded me of ancient worlds celebrated in the innocence of our forgotten childhood. When asked what his favourite painting was, he replied, “I haven’t done it yet.” However, he did declare one thing to me on the eve of 2011: ’2011 is the year I will not give a f***.’ A simple yet honest attitude to not let fear derail oneself from one’s promises. His works have sold in galleries across Ontario and California.

This week’s Frandoms are by Richard Ho at Publicis.
