Sci-fi revival

Fassbinder gets unearthed.

World on a Wire (Welt am Draht), Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s 1973 sci-fi epic, has been unavailable for viewing for 30 years. Now newly restored, Fassbinder’s dystopia combines “great style with a masterpiece of sci-fi literature” in Daniel F. Galouye’s Simulacron 3. It’s a precursor to Bladerunner and The Matrix, a bouquet to Philip K. Dick, and an absolute must-see for the likes of you long-tail cultural drifters.

This week’s Frandoms are by John Gagné at Proximity Canada.
