The stuff of nightmares, from JFK airport.

Taryn Simon’s Contraband is a creepy coffee table book that I can’t seem to put down.  Here’s the Amazon product description: “Taryn Simon lived in John F. Kennedy International Airport from Nov. 16 through Nov. 20, 2009…Contraband includes photographs taken 24 hours a day of over 1,000 items detained or seized from passengers and express mail entering the U.S. from abroad.” The New York Times has a sampling of the goods, and not so goods.
