Heidelberg Project

Making a Detroit ghetto beautiful again.

There’s a street in downtown Detroit where an artist has refurbished (so to speak) a bunch of rundown houses into vibrant pieces of art, known as the Heidelberg Project. I grew up near Detroit, and you would have never in a million years gotten me to walk these streets back then. But, somehow, when you cover up the graffiti and put a unique spin on the trash, it actually seems worth visiting.

Slightly related are the Make This Better letters that appeared on Ripper’s Valley in Windsor.
