Rich surprise
Once upon a time a guy bought this painting for $30 to cover up a hole in a wall. Years later while playing Masterpiece, a board game about art, he noticed one of the cards bore a strong resemblance to his painting. Turns out he had an unknown work by Martin Johnson Heade – and he sold it to the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston for $1.25 million. I love reading about shit like that.
This week’s Frandoms are by Jeff MacGregor from Twist image.
