Red Shirts’ ballad

A song for the unfortunate extras.
12 06 05 red shirt

Everyone knows that wearing a red shirt means you’re going to die. If you’re on Star Trek, that is. This new song by Jonathan Coulton weaves us through stereotypical situations where poor red-clad Starfleet officers have lost their lives: it’ll have breathable air, they said. A get-in, get-out situation, they said. Those poor fools never knew what hit them. The song is catchy and mellow and quite poignant when the poor guy looks down and realizes he’s wearing the red shirt of doom.
