Silver & Light

Making magic with one of the world's largest cameras.

If you had been searching your whole life for something you love, and you found it, what would you be willing to sacrifice? That’s the question asked by Ian Ruhter who founded the Silver & Light Project helping him to realize his photography dreams by creating one of the world’s largest cameras, which generates the world’s largest wet plate photos. Foursquare Outerwear explains: “A raw blend of art and science, Ruhter’s project is an advancement in wet plate collodion that hasn’t been attempted since 1878.” Cast in ghostly glow, these images will haunt you, and the artist’s drive to follow his passion will inspire you.

This week’s Frandoms are by Melissa Smich at Tribal DDB Toronto.
