Putting the 'Canadian' back in Canadian gift shops.

We don’t spend a lot of time hanging out in our local gift shops, but we’d always been under the vague assumption that if we did there would be oodles of Canadian-made stuff sitting on the shelves. Apparently not. The Toronto-based Noble Beaver Trading Company – made up of a woodworker, a knife-maker and a ceramics artist – tells the Torontoist its raison d’ĂȘtre is putting Canadian goods back into local gift shops. Because, you know, there’s nothing more Canadian than cycling down the streets with a box full of beer, heading home to your swan planters and pulling out your knife-in-a-log.
