There seems to be a broad internet consensus that the art of taxidermy – stuffing and mounting the skins of animals – is a lost one. If that is actually true, then Dutch artist Job van der Molen could be considered a pioneer reconquering lost artistic ground. He has created an army of stuffed insects. The idea of fitting animals with weaponry is not without precedent, so who knows, maybe Mr. van der Molen is angling for a job with the U.S. Army. For now, we’ll have to settle for the stuffed versions of his insect soldiers.
