Refrigerator voyeurism

Who knew other people's fridges could be so compelling?

Mark Menjivar wanted to explore people’s characters based on what was inside their refrigerators. To that end, he spent four years snapping pictures of them in their pristine state, i.e. before the owners had a chance to clean them out.

As Menjivar tells fastcodesign, “I have found underwear, snakes, pubic hair, bugs, batteries, placentas, a lazy susan, mystery items that not even the owners knew what they were, and more. I think that the fridge can be a glimpse into a lifestyle that someone is leading. It can never be a full picture, but it can give us hints.”
