Snapseed

The ultimate on-the-go photo editor.

I know this is probably old news to some of you, but I’m always surprised by how many people still haven’t heard of Snapseed. It was Apple’s 2011 iPad app of the year and then this last September, Google bought the company. It just released an update last week making it available for both iOS and Android, changed the price from $5 to free, and added some new filters. It’s my go-to app for mobile photo editing. Pretty much every one of my Instagrams goes through Snapseed first. It has a brilliant user interface and great simple features that I use all the time like straightening, sharpening, and cropping and more advanced features like selective adjust and the ability to fine-tune filters before applying them.
