In a country where nearly half the population lives on less than $2 a day,┬áIsang Litrong Liwanag in the Philippines used discarded plastic soda bottles filled with water and wedged in a hole cut in the roof to give off the equivalent of a 55 watt lightbulb. Kind of makes the florescent bulb hanging above your head right now seem a little less impressive, doesn’t it?
