Printing by thought

Blending 3D printing with mind-reading technology.

Someone was bound to do it. Mind-mapping and 3D printing technology were practically made for each other (in a “the future is freaking amazing,” kind of way.) Thinker Thing has blended the two technologies, saying it can create a 3D-printed object based on your thoughts. It uses an EEG (which uses sensors atop of a head to measure brainwaves based on blood flow) and flashes design elements on a screen (such as shapes, sizes, etc.). The brain supposedly reacts to the images without the participant having to vocalize their preferred shape, creating a pattern based on what the brain likes most. It then translates into an object that can be 3D printed nearby. The future is here and it’s way cool.
