Art of the snapshot

Creating the look of failed photos on purpose.

newanartnart1German Photographer Neven Allgeier takes a very casual approach toward his work, but that doesn’t prevent him from adjusting a photo’s composition with incredible precision. The imposed distance to the scene and almost systematic use of a flash (essential to snapshots) give his pictures a particular texture that some would quickly (and wrongfully) classify as failed photos. I see it as both a reflection of increasing derision and an ode to popular culture.

This week’s Frandoms are by Florian Pétigny, art director, Newad.
