Star Trek founder's hope for humanity.

GeneGene Roddenberry envisioned and created Star Trek at a time when the world was still suppressed by social inequalities. It was the first major network TV series that featured an African-American female, Uhura, in an intelligent leading role, the first to cast an Asian, Sulu, played gay rights activist and actor George Takei, as an equal member of the bridge crew, and still to this day one of the only shows to advocate a future in which civilization has focused on doing the right thing. Here’s a cool quote from Roddenberry about existing together on planet earth.

This week’s Frandoms are by Adam Oliveira, co-founder and chief game designer, Blitztream Games.
