Drunk texting

York University's vodka-powered phone messaging.
Vodka texting

I’m a techie nerd who’s always on the lookout for the next big thing. Thus, when I came across an experiment at York University, where vodka was used to power a text message, I was amazed. My first question was, “I wonder what brand of vodka they used” followed immediately by, “How in the world did they do that?” The engineering folks over at York utilized molecular communication. In other words, they transmitted the text message via chemical signals, something that insects have been doing forever-ever (Outkast reference). Because technology is changing at such a rapid pace, I love stuff like this, especially when it’s time to brainstorm ideas.
