Not Far From The Tree

Fruit-picking for thy neighbours.

not far from treeEvery year, thousands of pounds of fruit on Toronto’s trees go unharvested. What registered charity¬†Not Far From the Tree does is bring volunteers to those trees to pick them clean. The bounty is then split three ways between the homeowner, the pickers, and the final third is donated to local food banks. It’s an ingenious solution that combines sustainability and community engagement with delicious ripe fruit. Sign up to pick or be picked.
