The selfie is selfish. Yes, we said it. But what if the selfie could somehow be self-less, while still exhibiting the essence of a person’s self? Meet Donorgram, a novel take on social image-sharing, where people can post a selfie of their organs (well, animated images of their organs) such as kidneys, hearts, and the pancreas, but only once they register to donate their organs when they leave this world. The Donorgram campaign was created by former John St.-er Bobby Hoult of Toronto’s newly-launched agency Wedge Communications, and is meant to drive people to register for organ donation. Sure, it’s a little creepy, but you’ve got to admit the colourful images makes it a little less difficult to talk about the icky, squishy organs that sit inside of us.
