These guys pull sounds out of a houseplant sitting near a speaker.

By looking at subtle vibrations in a silent video feed, a team from MIT was able to recreate the audio happening within that environment. Everything from pulling “Mary Had a Little Lamb” out of video of a house plant that was sitting near a speaker, to recovering conversations simply by studying how an empty bag of chips vibrates in a room.
