Ever seen a dead embroidered leaf before?

These crocheted leaves are so beautiful they're hurting our eyes.

Susanna Bauer is an unexplained prodigy who is, quite simply, blowing our minds.

She crochets leaves. Amazing, right? Basically, the German artist will pull tiny threads through old, cracking dry leaves and even wood using her little fingers and a whole lot of patience (we have a thing for artists in the miniature business, as you can see here, here and here). She will work on anything that’s “ephemeral” and “easily overlooked” (according to Bauer on her website). She builds and structures her designs with crochet, while also using the difficult and fragile process to reflect the “tenderness and tension in human connections.”
