This just in! Toronto agency Huxley Quayle von Bismark has a weird name and a great idea: is a bit of industry-fuelled relief for those creatives who suddenly find themselves unemployed. The idea is that every major advertiser in Canada donates just one project to HQvB, who staff it entirely with freelancers, a.k.a. those who’ve been laid off recently.

HQvB will be charging a flat-fee (much less than agencies, themselves included, normally charge), so the advertiser gets a break while getting to help out. HQvB ad man Andy Shortt adds that the agency will not be profiting from this initiative, the fee will pay the recently-underemployed freelance team and cover costs. You heard it here first, people.
