Old design is new again.

Toronto-based creative studio Motherbrand is exploring the act of sampling – the art kind, not the rap music kind – with Cut/Copy/Paste, consisting of two events: Cut/Paste (at the Royal Ontario Museum until Jan. 31) is all about creative redesign, which is the process of using existing and salvaged products to design something new. Copy (at the Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Arts until Feb. 5) looks at how Canadian ceramic artists have appropriated design elements from diverse sources for thousands of years.
