Good vibrations

Making music without touching anything.

Remember the haunting sound that drives The Beach Boys’ ‘Good Vibrations’? Well, that sound was created by a theremin, an early electronic musical instrument that is played without physical contact. David Beaulieu and Christian Pelletier celebrate this instrument with their room-sized theremin made up of 16 antennas. Simply walking through the array is all that is needed to create music. This installation is part of Art Pop at the Pop Montreal International Music Festival.
