Vancouver-based Subplot Design noticed that self-promotional videos for design shops has become something of a trend these days. The problem, they found, was that most videos adhere to stereotypical formats – rather than standing out, they all blend in together. So, in developing their own self-promo clip, Subplot decided to poke a little fun at the other guys and their tired cliches. Does that make them stand out? Or blend ironically?
