Shepherds of good

This group won't let a whaling ship get them down.

And they call animal rights people crazy. Early this month, the Sea Shepherd ship the Ady Gil was attacked and sunk by the notorious Japanese whaling ship Shonan Maru 2 and its captain taken into custody as the first political prisoner since WW II. The crew of the Sea Shepherd, a non-violent direct action group, physically put themselves between animals and those who want to kill them. As someone who’s been punched, shoved and spat on at demonstrations, I am in awe of these guys. If you haven’t already, check out Whale Wars on Animal Planet. [Or go ask Bob Barker. -Ed.]

This week’s Frandoms are by Brenda McNeilly at Fuse Marketing Group.
