There’s a little bit of everything in this spot by Publicis London for car company Renault, promoting its Clio. There are clips of Audrey Hepburn and Rhianna, one of Marlon Brando lamenting over the fact that he could’ve been a contender, and one of David Bowie singing ‘Major Tom.’ And If you thought that didn’t make any sense, they threw in burlesque artist Dita von Teese stripping to clear everything up. It’s supposed to be a study on the nature of the expression ‘va va voom.’ Um…what? This is reminiscent of, and makes about as much sense as, a Twin Peaks dream sequence.
