The Clock

The National Gallery of Canada has its timing just right.

Right now at the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, you can see Christian Marclay’s visual masterpiece, The Clock. Known for mucking about with visual and audio artifacts, Christian has created a 24-hour montage made from moments in cinema and TV history that feature time references. The cool thing is, it also acts as a timepiece for the viewer. For example, if you’re watching The Clock at 2:40 p.m., the visual references on screen will coincide with the actual time of day. Unfortunately, I don’t think the gallery will let you hang around long enough to watch all 24 hours.

This week’s Frandoms are by Gary Watson at Bos Toronto.
