Time-lapsed skylines

Photographs that could have been made with a brush.

Photographer Matt Molloy, who lives on the shores of Lake Ontario, east of Toronto, says time-lapse is his favourite form of photography. After discovering “star trail” photos (multiple shots of  stars from a fixed position that are later merged into one), he decided to try the technique out with time-lapse sequences of clouds moving and sun sets. The results of these digitally-stacked photos are images with skylines that appear to have been painted on. He calls them “timestacks.” We call them gorgeous to look at.
