3D print your house

Construction workers of the future, watch your back.

We’ve seen 3D printed shoes, a dress and business cards, so perhaps it’s just a matter of time before the technology can be used to construct full-scale homes. The folks at U.S.-based Movoto Real Estate’s blog haven’t managed it just yet but they have developed a calculator that lets users figure out what it would cost and how much time it would take using the available printers on the market. If you’re dreaming of being the first to own one, don’t hold your breath. They calculate it would take 148 years to complete a 1,400 sq. ft. place at a cost of US$224,000.
