Sheep station

A former gas station transformed into Bo Peep's dream world.

Motorists passing by a former industrial gas station in West Chelsea, New York, may get the impression someone’s opened a full-service station with sheep attendants. The “Sheep station,” which opened today, is the first public art installation at the former filling station. The collaboration of art collector Michael Shvo and the Paul Kasmin gallery features sculpted sheep, the work of deceased artist François-Xavier Lalanne. The station will feature a rotating series of public art, that is, once the sheep sculptures have moved on to greener pastures.
