The last mobile phone you'll ever need.

With smartphone companies constantly updating their devices and consumers ever eager to buy them, there’s a lot of unused and unwanted phones floating around. Netherlands-based Dave Hakkens is out to eliminate this m-waste by developing Phonebloks, a phone worth keeping. It’s essentially a phone made of a base and many removable and interchangeable pieces, so if things break or require an upgrade you can replace just the faulty piece. Hakkens plans to build an open-source online platform where lots of folks can collaborate and recently the company signed on to work with Motorola, so this may well be more than just a cool idea.
