We’d like to bet that Canada was the birthplace for the pay it forward movement. It’s easy to assume this when athlete Gilmore Junio gave up his seat in the Olympic ring this year for fellow colleague Denny Morrison to speed skate in his place, and then to see Toronto design agency Jacknife  (who has no connection to the athlete whatsoever) return the favour for Morrison (who won Silver) by crowdsourcing enough funds to present the selfless do-gooder with an honourary medal of his own. Watch the video about the agency’s decision to say thanks, and donate if you’d like to be a part of the message.
