The MoMA's virtual soapbox breaks down barriers.

momaSo we have all these social platforms through which to communicate, and what do we do? We post what we had for breakfast, the disagreement we had with some jerk who stole our parking spot or a dilemma around a wardrobe malfunction. Sometimes, social media can be so trivial. But then sometimes it’s the perfect outlet to bring people together for a collective discussion around something more consequential, like art. That’s what the latest project from New York agency Possible is doing, in collaboration with¬†the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). “Art140” showcases¬†iconic pieces of art from MoMA’s collection and invites everyone and anyone to express what they mean to them, in 140 characters or less. It’s a social experiment that tears down racial and gender walls, bringing people from all walks of life together to chat brush strokes and palates, or just to say “That’s rad.”
