Here’s the problem with pre-roll ads: agencies rarely, if ever, make them with their platform in mind, which means upwards of 90% of viewers hit that little “skip ad” button the moment it pops up. Geico’s agency The Martin Agency appears to have realized this and boiled the idea of savings into a (highly cheesy) chunk that fits into that brief moment before you’re allowed to skip it. And while that may be novel enough, each spot has an extended version to show what you might be missing when you don’t give pre-roll ads a chance and leave during mid-air high fives and family dinners.
