A more than happy birthday message
Writers for a Progressive North Carolina and BooneOakley send the governor a little something on his 60th.
It might seem flattering to get a full-page ad with a birthday message, but probably not so much for North Carolina governor Pat McCrory.
The governor, who’s up for reelection Nov. 8, turned 60 yesterday, lending the Writers for a Progressive North Carolina an opportunity to send a real message.
McCrory is behind House Bill 2 (HB2), also known as the “bathroom bill,” a controversial piece of legislation that’s widely considered to be anti-LGBTQ.
So, the Writers and Charlotte agency BooneOakley took to the Raleigh News & Observer to run this full-page “HB2 U, Pat” ad, with a nod to what the organization hopes will be the real celebration on election day.
