This calendar is almost magic

Designer Kosho Tsuboi takes a step toward bridging analog and digital worlds.

We now carry calendars around with us at all times. But while it’s convenient, the mobile format just isn’t as digestible or pleasing to the eye as the ones that hang on walls.

Designer Kosho Tsuboi, through Google’s Android Experiments, has developed a compromise. The Magic Calendar connects an Android app to a paper-like electronic ink colour display that looks like a traditional wall calendar. They remain synced, with every entry on the app materializing on the wall screen.

“I think that, as technology development progresses and these types of products are developed, the boundary between analog and digital things will disappear,” Tsuboi says in this explanatory video.
